Affiliated Researchers was subcontracted on behalf a Fortune 500 company to perform multi-beam bathymetric and side-scan sonar surveying in support of sediment investigations on the Kanawha River in West Virginia.

Affiliated Researchers provided its trained personnel, survey vessels, sonar equipment, and materials to perform services necessary to develop baseline information of the existing riverbed conditions. Affiliated Researchers also provided its RTK-GPS survey equipment (capable of horizontal and vertical accuracies of better-than 0.05’) and its trained operator for same.

To develop baseline information of existing riverbed conditions, AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS utilized a Klein Hydrochart 3500 system coupled to an Applanix motion sensor system to conduct multi-beam bathymetric and side-scan sonar surveys of the project site. AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS also conducted a sub-bottom profiling survey to locate the position of a pipeline buried beneath the riverbed at the project site. These surveys were conducted in accordance with recognized protocols.
