AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS conducted multi-beam bathymetric surveying, side-scan surveying, sub-bottom profiling, and substrate characterization as part of a restoration project on the Kalamazoo River, Michigan. The hydrographic and geophysical surveying services were a critical aspect towards the engineering and environmental restoration dredging of this USEPA Superfund site.

KZoo River Hips multibeam imageAFFILIATED RESEARCHERS utilized its high-resolution Klein 5000 Hydrochart multibeam-sidescan equipment and its Applanix PosMV position-orientation equipment to conduct high-quality multi-beam and side-scan hydrographic surveying at the site. Advanced hydrographic softwares were used to process the multi-beam and side-scan data and provide the centimeter accurate surveys. tilized its Knudsen 3212 and Trimble RTK-GPS to conduct IHO Order Special quality bathymetric surveying and sub-bottom profiling at 11 mining ponds at the Superfund site.

Backscatter snippet data were also collected with the Klein 5000 Hydrochart and post-processed by AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS to provide substrate characterization of the river.

AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS utilized its Knudsen 3212 Chrip and Trimble RTK-GPS equipment to conduct single-beam bathymetric surveying and sub-bottom profiling at the site. HYPACK hydrographic software was used to collect and process the single-beam and sub-bottom data, and provide centimeter accurate surveys.

KZoo River Fledermaus multibeam image1RTK-GPS equipment and NGS OPUS methods were used by AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS to establish NGS quality survey benchmark controls at the project site.

All data were accurately compiled and presented by AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS in AutoCAD, XYZ, Excel, and 3-D Fledermaus Scene formats.
