AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS conducts vibracore sediment sampling at the Grand Calumet River, Indiana.
AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS utilized its vibracore vessel and Rossfelder underwater vibracore system to collect discrete sediment cores from the Grand Calumet River Area of Concern (AOC), Gary, Indiana.
AFFILIATED RESEARCHERS also conducted a magnetometer survey, collected numerous sediment samples using ponar methods, and installed groundwater piezometers during this project.
These services conducted in support of a Great Lakes environmental restoration project currently being conducted by the US EPA Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO); together with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and other project partners.
The data obtained from the collected sediment samples and the installed piezometers is being used towards the development of the environmental remedial design and dredging of the Grand Calumet River.
